How far the Top takes the bottom is up to both to decide. If the Top takes the bottom to level three, probably the bottom is not going to do much good for sex afterwards (nice to know if the Top has plans). Of course this is different for everyone, so if the Top has someone that handles more or less, that's not unusual. As always, the Top has to tailor the Top's expectations to the individual. Keep an eye on circulation issues in extremities. If the Top is using cuffs or ropes to bind the bottom, the Top must be careful because as the bottom goes deeper into subspace, the bottom is unlikely to know or tell the Top about problems the bottom may be having. Once the Top gets to level five or so, the bottom is usually going to be pretty incoherent and may be incapable of calling out a safeword or telling the Top if there's a problem. A general rule is that when the bottom can't respond to, "How are you doing?", it's time to stop the scene and take the bottom into aftercare.
